Set the conditions. Build your capacity. Move with purpose. Lead people. Develop Others. Strengthen culture.

Team Before Self™ helps organizations, small teams, and individuals turn shared principles into daily action. Through keynote speaking, leadership development, team building, key leader engagement (KLE), and one-on-one coaching, Michael “Mongo” Minotto helps leaders set clear standards, strengthen accountability, and develop the people around them.

Drawing on 31 years of Marine Corps and Navy service, Mongo brings practical experience to the challenges that shape organizational culture: how leaders behave, what teams accept, and whether actions match stated values.

The TBS ecosystem connects three leadership tenets—Operate in the Light, Make Principle-Based Decisions, and LEAD—with the TBS Truths: Shared Strength, Mentor & Reflect, Be Humble & Savage, and Develop Shared Values. Together, these principles guide honest communication, shared responsibility, and purposeful action.
